Ten Reasons to Choose Agenda to Manage Your
Research Facilities

Agenda Resource Management (Agenda) is a customer centred organisation that believes long-term customer relations are developed and maintained through an inclusive and personal approach. We operate almost exclusively in the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology industry and believe that we have an excellent understanding of the demands and needs of the industry. Click here to download our "Loss of Control or Peace of Mind" poster. We have identified 10 key elements that you might want to consider when choosing your facility management provider:

1. Unique Experience

Over 300 years' research facility management experience at Board/Senior Manager level and currently managing a number of prestigious academic and global pharmaceutical client facilities. This experience ranges from managing and directing research facilities with over 200 staff to designing and commissioning new research facilities from scratch. The collective experience of working within many academic, pharmaceutical, government and contract research organisations has enabled us to see facility management from many different perspectives and so we do not subscribe to the 'one size fits all' mentality.

2. Scientific Understanding and Legal Compliance

We understand that the care and welfare of the animals is of primary importance. However, we also understand that the research process must be supported by our management processes. With vast experience of working with academia, contract research and pharmaceutical researchers, we understand the needs of the facility users and the legal and regulatory requirements. Agenda fully understands the Home Office, Health and Safety and other legal requirements and has Licensed NACWO, RAnTech and NEBOSH accredited staff.

3. Project Planning and Implementation

We have assisted with the start up of many laboratory animal facilities. This includes working closely with architects, builders, Home Office commissioning and the successful procurement of capital items leading to the successful opening of the facilities. With all new projects, Agenda carries out a full scoping and project management plan to include all key milestones, organisational and communication processes and a critical path analysis.

4. Training

Agenda believes in the continued professional development of its staff, is an accredited Investor in People and uniquely provides a training bank account to all individuals for their vocational and non-vocational training. In addition it is able to set up on -the- job performance and competency based training systems for its clients. Agenda also provides "external" training such as security awareness programmes to add value and develop a security culture.

5. Independence

Agenda is a family owned business and has remained independent. This provides a number of benefits, including our ability to provide equipment, consumables and animals from any source at competitive prices using our bulk purchasing power and the auditing of suppliers to assure our clients of quality, service and delivery.

6. Working to Deadlines

Agenda prides itself on its ability to react quickly to clients' requirements, whether this is for new research facility projects or the staffing of a new facility. We are able to provide for example, interim managers and directors to ensure that cover is provided quickly and progress maintained.

7. Staffing and Cover

Agenda has a large pool of experienced staff from cage wash operatives to directors and veterinary surgeons. These staff can be called upon at short notice to cover increased workloads or pre-planned for holidays and sickness, providing a consistent and experienced team.

8. Recruitment

Within the Agenda group we have a specialist recruitment division, which will work together with the client to recruit suitable candidates. Importantly, recruitment and pre-employment screening fees are included in the costs of providing the facilities management contract.

9. Confidentiality

Agenda understands the sensitivity around the ethical and legal use of animals in research and works closely with its clients to provide a confidential and secure service at all times.

10. Security

Agenda's Security Division specialises in pre-employment screening for research organisations. All staff are screened at the recruitment stage and again annually thereafter. In addition, Agenda Security Services provide bespoke security training and all members of staff attend the Agenda Security Awareness course. They will also be able to advise on any security issues relating to the client's facility, site, data or potential animal rights extremist threats.
